144, xi, [3] 257 pp. With the stamp of Henry J. Webb, Aspatria Agriculture College. Front cover detached, rear board threatening, spine mostly perished, boards quite worn, interior clean and unmarked, paper a little toned. Owen's translations of Cato, dated 1803, and of Varro (dated 1800) , both on agriculture. Scarce in and of themselves, this copy is particularly interesting because it has the ownership stamp of Henry J. Webb[1846-1893], who took over the Aspatria Ag. College in northern England in 1887, the school was founded on the radical idea of training the sons of tenant farmers and labourers. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall
